I love music and going to concerts. Before Baybah was born my husband and I went to a show almost every weekend. Living in Las Vegas definitely has its perks when it comes to entertainment! Last weekend I was lucky enough to see CeeLo Green in LoBerace at Planet Hollywood. From the moment that the lights dimmed and the stage was lit, I knew it was going to be a great show.
I have been a fan of CeeLo Green since his Gnarls Barkley days, so I was really excited to see him live. Once we picked up our tickets we waited in line for the doors to open. They were running a bit late but once we were allowed in everyone quickly got to their seats so the show could start. There was not a bad seat in the house. Music started pumping and the amazing light show started pulsing. Next the showgirls appeared strutting with all the intensity and vigor you would expect in a Vegas show. Followed by CeeLo who appears seemingly out of thin air. You could feel the excitement in the air and everyone started to cheer.
In true CeeLo Green style, his costumes were eccentric and his voice was smooth. He took us on a musical journey covering songs from generation to generation, and sang original songs that he made just for the show. Some of the hits that he sang included INXS’s One of My Kind, Rod Stewart’s Do You Think I’m Sexy, 311′s Freak Out, and so much more! I was excited to also hear him sing his hits Crazy and Forget You. And during a wardrobe change, a Boy George impersonator came out to sing a couple of songs. I still swear he was the real Boy George. CeeLo Green was an amazing performer. He told personal stories, jokes, and described how music inspired him. It was like classic Vegas entertainment.
CeeLo Green’s Loberace would be a great date night for locals and a must see for those coming to town. It has all the old time Vegas charm with a modern day superstar.
CeeLo Green is definitely a modern day Liberace!

CeeLo Performs Wednesday to Saturday at the Showroom at Planet Hollywood Las Vegas. Tickets start at $54.50 and showtimes are at 11:00 pm and 12:00 am. CeeLo Green will be in town until April 13, and again from October to New Year’s.
