If you’re the mother of a newborn, or preparing for a new baby, I’m sure you’ve noticed the wide range of feeding systems out there. There are so many brands and designs, your head may start to spin!
I was asked to review the Chicco NaturalFit line of bottles. Since I have a newborn and am still nursing, I have been using the stage one bottle/nipples for my little one. Since I am nursing, it is nice to share the load with daddy, or a babysitter while I am away. The stage one NaturalFit nipples make it easier for us to transition from breast to bottle. That is because the nipples are made from extra soft and supple silicone so it feels more like mom, which is great for my newborn. The shape and texture and also designed for easy transition.
Stage One NaturalFit nipple features a unique angle and wide, rounded base that should fill the needs of your baby. The angle of the nipple will encourage proper positioning, as well as neck support. The angle of the nipple also keeps it full of milk, helping to reduce your child’s risk of swallowing air, and tummy aches. The Stage One nipples come in: 5 oz, or 8 oz bottles, for newborn to 4 months.
The Stage Two nipple is upright and straight, and developed for 4 to 6 months. These nipples are designed for adjustable flow control. Depending on how you position the bottle, the flow is slower, or faster, making it easier to feed your baby at the right speed. Just put the nipple in your baby’s mouth with the number 1 (for slower flow), or 2 (for faster flow) next to your baby’s chin. This nipple comes with an 8 oz bottle.
Stage 3 nipples have a less rounded base and an elongated nipple. These nipples are designed for babies beyond 6 months. The elongated nipple is designed to adapt to your child’s muscle development. A longer nipple encourages correct swallowing as they become efficient in the suck-swallow pattern. This nipple has multiple holes for a faster flow rate. You can also purchase a Y cut nipple for introducing thicker liquids. This nipple comes with an 11 oz bottle.
Finding a great way to either transition your child from the breast, or sharing feeding times with those you love just became much easier with NaturalFit Bottles.
