Fiesta to Feed Families Simple Service Project #Fiesta4Kids

I participated in this program on behalf of Champions for Kids and The Motherhood. All opinions are my own.

This weekend my family and I partnered with Champions for Kids to serve our local food pantry in our first Simple Service Project.  What is a Simple Service Project?  Simple Service Projects are simple ways for people to help children in your community.  Knowing that for millions of children, the end of the school year means no more access to school breakfasts, lunches or after-school snack, we decided to help by putting together a Fiesta to collect non-perishables for local students facing hunger.

Every SIMPLE Service Project has 4 basic steps:

  • GATHER your friends, family, and co-workers.
  • LEARN about the needs of children in your community.
  • GIVE items to help kids enjoy happier & healthier lives.
  • SHARE your story with us to inspire others.

Fiesta for Families Simple Service Project

We asked family and friends to come to our Fiesta to Feed Families Party and help our cause by bringing a couple of  non-perishable items for us to donate.  I made things super easy by putting together a taco bar with supplies to create their own Jennie-O Turkey Tacos.  I also made yummy Taco Salad also using Jennie-O Turkey.

The non-perishable items we collected will be going  to Three Square, one of my favorite Las Vegas charities.  Their mission is: “To provide wholesome food to hungry people, while passionately pursuing a hunger free community.”  They are an amazing organization and are the only food bank providing food assistance to residents in Southern Nevada.
