Magna Color 3D Art Board Review

Magna Color 3D

Adison’s most favorite thing to do in the world is create art.  Some of her favorite things to get for Christmas are art supplies and projects.  I have put up a table in my craft room just for her so she can work on her own projects – if I didn’t she would take up all of my crafting space.

So when I saw this Magna Color 3D Art Board I knew this would be something Adison would completely love – and she did!  She has been kept busy with this design station for hours every day.

Magna Color

The Magna Color 3D Art Board came with the Design stations, 4 pens, 4 sets of colored dots, two double sided designs (so you have a total of 4 designs), a screen sweeper and 3 D glasses.  The colors we received were orange, green, yellow and red.  I read through the instructions step by step and had Adison creating in no time.

First you attach the pens to the back and then you empty the colored dots onto the art board.  Using the sweeper, slide the colored dots through a slot at the top of the design station.  Then you start shaking which I think was as much for my daughter as creating designs.

The colored dots are different sizes – the dots work themselves (via the shaking) to the correct spot that lines up with that colors pen.  Getting the colored dots to go into their pen requires a bit more shaking and a small workout on my part when Adison needed some assistance.

The board and colored dots  are magnetic.  You press the pen down and out pops a dot and sticks where you place it.  It can easily be moved around with your finger to change up your design.

After your design is created put on your 3D glasses and the design pops out at you.

Adison was so proud of what she created.

When you are done with your project just sweep the colored dots into the slot and refill your pens.

We took off the design paper so Adison could make up her own design – she decided to make a flower.

Countless hours have already been spent playing with the Magna Color 3D Art Board and my daughter has loved every moment.  There were times when the pens would jam or when more than one color dot would come out of the pens and I would have to stop and help her.  As a busy mom this was at times frustrating for me, but I loved seeing her creative mind at work – so it was worth it.  Overall, we loved the Design set.

The Magna Color is priced at $24.99 and is for ages 4+.   Additional themes available are Midnight Garden, Rainbow Sky, Jungle Adventure, Hello Kitty and Angry Birds and can be purchased at Toys “R” Us, Walmart, Kohl’s, BJ’s Wholesale Club, Walgreens, and many more retailers!

Tech 4 Kids, the manufacturer of Magna Color, told me that a small quantity of product shipped this past summer with malfunctioning pens.  Tech 4 Kids is dedicated to high quality product and would like anyone with malfunctioning pens to contact them at for a set of free replacement pens and dots.
