Daniel Tiger’s Big Feelings Week Comes to PBS Kids

As a PBS Kids Ambassador, I am excited to tell you about a special week of episodes airing on Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood called, “Daniel’s Big Feelings Week.”  These episodes will air on PBS Kids February 17 to the 21. (Check your local listing for showtimes.)  In these 5 new episodes, Daniel Tiger and his friends will be learning about strategies for dealing with feelings of jealousy, disappointment, frustration and empathy. “Daniel’s Big Feelings Week” brings Fred Rogers gentle lessons of positive emotional and social skills to today’s preschoolers in a fun and memorable way continuing his legacy.

Angela C. Santomero, Series Creator and Co-Executive Producer, said, “In ‘Daniel’s Big Feelings Week,’ and in every episode, Daniel brings young viewers directly into his world so that they can learn right alongside him and his friends as they navigate life from a preschool perspective. The catchy musical strategies that are an integral part of each story stick with kids and parents and continue to support them long after the episode is over.”

After previewing the episodes for the first time, B was already singing some of the catchy tunes from the show.  “When you’re feeling frustrated, take a step back and ask for help.”  Which is perfect, because that is something we are working on in our house right now.  We often remind B of the strategies used in different Daniel Tiger episodes to help him feel better.
