Every once in awhile a movie comes along that really touches your heart. The Odd Life with Timothy Green is that movie for me. Even thinking about it now brings tears to my eyes because it was such a beautiful film that had me thinking about the magical moments with my own child.
The Odd Life of Timothy Green is about a happily married couple named Cindy and Jim Green (Jennifer Garner and Joel Edgerton) who have just found out that they cannot have children. Both devastated by the news, Jim attempts to improve Cindy’s spirits by dreaming about just for one day what their child would be like. He grabs a bottle of wine, paper, and a pencil, and they both laugh and wonder, and write down the qualities their child would have had. Cindy and Jim wrote down things like – never give up, Picasso with a pencil, honest to a fault, score the winning goal, and more. Trying to move on they burry their dreams for a child in a box in the garden in their backyard. That night a big storm passes over their home and Timothy (CJ Adams) shows up on their doorstep calling them mom and dad.
I do not want to give away the entire plot because I think the magic of the film needs to speak for itself. But I will tell you that Timothy appears in their life for a reason, and brings light into the lives of everyone he meets. Cindy Green said, ” He is our something unexpected, our little miracle.” With so many magical moments in this film I began thinking of all the magic and wonder our son brought into our lives. I think that is why I loved this film so much. It made me laugh, cry, and want to hold my little guy even closer.
The Odd Life of Timothy Green is a small town fairy tale that could only be brought to life through the magic of Disney. It is my favorite movie of 2012, and a must see for any parent, grandparent, couples expecting or wanting their own children, and kids. There is a place for Timothy Green in everyones heart, all you have to do is believe.
The Odd Life of Timothy Green opens in theaters TODAY, August 15th!

We really liked this movie and the beginning really resonated with me as a surrogate. This is the reason that I made the decision to go through surrogacy in the first place. The movie did make my 6 year old cry though.
This looks so cute – finally seeing commercials on tv :)
