PBS Kids Premiers Peg + Cat This Fall

Peg Cat PBS Kids

PBS KIDS announces: Billy Aronson (Rent, Postcards from Buster) and Jennifer Oxley (Little Bill, The Wonder Pets!) have created a new series titled, Peg + Cat. These co-creators have teamed up with The Fred Rogers Company and developed a show with lots of problems! Math problems that is.

PEG + CAT focuses on introducing and teaching math concepts and problem solving skills to your preschooler in a fun and adventure-filled way. This duo will be exploring around the world solving word problems  using fundamental  math concepts such as algebra and geometry. Although the focus of the show is math your preschooler will also see how Peg learns  life skills such as cooperation, problem solving and learning from ones mistakes. Alongside all the learning taking place during each episode of PEG + CAT it will prove entertaining and fun, keeping your preschooler coming back for more. Each show is thirty minutes in length and features two eleven minute episodes. PEG + CAT premieres Fall 2013 so in the mean time introduce your little one to Peg and Cat by playing games and checking out other resources online at pbskids.org/peg. This fall 2013 additional interactive games, parent resources and a mobile app will launch along with the on-air premiere.

I love that the main character is a girl that loves math and that they use graph paper in the background to tie in the math theme.  I cannot wait to learn more about it and to watch the first episode this fall on PBS!
