Welcome to Week 52 of Toddler Talk Thursday!

ONE FULL YEAR!!! (Plus some because I am sure we lost count somewhere!!)

Happy Anniversary Toddler Talk Mamas!!

Where Family and Life in Las Vegas, Crazy about my Baybah, and My Life as a Sippy Cup Mom talk all things TODDLER!!

** If you want to follow this on twitter – or plan on tweeting your post – please use hashtag: #letstalktoddler **

Toddler Talk Thursday was created as a place for moms and dads of toddlers to come together over a weekly topic and share ideas, go-to toys, or products. It is a great way to meet other parents of toddlers. Each week the topic will be different; we invite you to link up, share your weekly Toddler Talk!!

Each week the hosts will travel around to each blog to see what topic your suggest for the following week. If we choose your topic – you will be our featured blog.

Keep the GREAT suggestions coming. We have an on-going list we will choose from each week. Some topics are ones we have done in the past – but that doesn’t mean we won’t revisit them!!

In order to qualify for this you need to blog about this week’s topic, and follow the hosts. Please do not link up past posts or non-toddler talk posts.

And the end of your post – suggest a topic for next week.

Comments letting us know you are participating are always great too. If we choose your blog, we will link back to your post the following week.

This week’s featured Blog is Living at Whitehead’s Zoo who suggested This Week’s Topic:

Tips for building your toddlers vocabulary

I think the best thing to do is to read to your little one no matter what age to help build vocabulary.  Baybah loves to point out different things in the books to us.   We love to play “What’s that?”  We are always asking Baybah to tell us what different things are.  He always throws us a surprise by saying a word that we did not think he knew.  Baybah also loves to play educational games on my iphone.  Lately he has also been really into a flashcard app I have.  It cracks me up how he will flip through the cards himself and say the words based on the picture.  I help him out with the words he does not know yet.  I think he likes it because he controls the pages.

Link Up Suggestions:

1. We ask that you follow all three hosts. That way you can keep up to date on future Toddler Talks.

2. Please grab the Toddler Talk Button and display it in your post or on your blog.

3. Stop in to other blogs that are linking up.Leave a meaningful comment if you visit, and follow if you would like.

  1. Mary Williams says:

I’m definitely going to have my neice download a flashcard app on her Ipod so I can check it out! I totally agree with the reading too! And I am always asking Luke what things are, where ever we are, on tv or just shopping in a store! We also do this with colors too!

  2. I agree, reading is key to a childs vocabulary!

  3. The flashcard sounds NEAT and I love that your guy is doing it and saying words! Way to go Baybah!!

  4. I really thank you for choosing to bring this subject to light. My son is nearly 20-months-old, and undergoing intensive speech therapy and a possible autism diagnosis, as he is not talking or assigning meaning to language. It breaks my heart! But hops like this keep me motivated! Thanks for sharing… XO!

    Newly following via GFC!
