I love Las Vegas! Where else can you watch a volcano erupt, pirates battle, ride a roller coaster, see a castle, the Eiffel tower, the Statue of Liberty, and a sphinx all on the same street? Or red mountains with snow, a light that can be seen from space, a neon sign graveyard, or take a walk through Venice? Creativity and imagination can be found everywhere! In fact, it can be found in every community and city all over the country.
Inspired by this, THQ and uDraw has launched a nationwide art contest and invite kids ages 6-17 to embrace their artistic inspiration and share “what your city, your town, or your community means to you.” Maybe it’s a watercolor of their favorite beach, a drawing of their friends playing at the park, or a digital creation of their cities skyline. They get to choose the medium!

If Baybah was old enough to enter, I know he would create a watercolor of balloons. He loves painting with watercolors, and cannot get enough of the hot air balloons that we see floating in the sky in the morning. The balloons look beautiful with the bright blue sky and mountains in the back ground. What will your child draw?
The submission period runs through October 31, and the grand prize winner will receive a package worth more than $15,000, including a uDraw, and a $10,000 cash prize that the winner can choose to apply toward a college scholarship. Additionally, THQ will donate $10,000 to the winner’s school of choice to help support its art program. Believe me, as an art teacher, that money can go a long way to help your childs art program! Other cool prizes include a uDraw GameTablet , uDraw GameTablet games, and an HD TV so they can turn their television into an art studio! Entries are judged on artistic merit (based on age group), creativity, and adherence to the overall city theme.
Let your childs creativity shine and have them enter the uDraw art contest today!
Disclosure: I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of THQ and received a promotional item to thank me for taking the time to participate. All thoughts are my own.
